Our Sculpt manicure is one of the most-requested services at The Shade — and for good reason. It’s a structured manicure that adds real strength to your natural nails while keeping them looking entirely natural. Here’s what it is and who it’s for.
What builder gel is
Builder gel is a flexible, durable gel that’s sculpted over the natural nail to create an even, reinforced surface. Unlike harder, more rigid options, it moves a little with your natural nail, which makes it comfortable and resistant to cracking. It’s the foundation of a structured, or “sculpted,” manicure.
How the Sculpt is applied
Every Sculpt starts with our dry, e-file prep — no soaking — so the builder gel bonds to a clean, true-size nail. We then sculpt the gel to even out the surface and add subtle structure, shape it, and finish with the color or natural look you choose. The result is strong, beautifully even, and refined right up to the cuticle.
Who it’s best for
- Nails that peel, split, or break before they can grow.
- Anyone who wants the most durable, longest-lasting result.
- Guests growing out their natural nails who want support along the way.
- Anyone who simply loves a flawless, even finish.
Keeping it looking fresh
As your natural nails grow, a fill every two to three weeks rebalances the structure and refreshes the finish — no need to start over each time. With regular fills, your Sculpt stays strong and seamless.
